If life had a replay button, I would pick certain moments and just live in them, forever.

human.
no body’s business
but yours
and mine
we watch each other through the darkness;
the heavy lifting
the thing of the heart
the temple tantrums and the hands that would not stop shaking.
we watched the naked peel off our core
set off the layers that we couldn’t show one another
when the light hit
when the people
and the places
and the breaths of breathers
when there were too many eyes focus, direct on our needing to know one another .
through the black
i saw your bones and your tears and all the freedom you were made up of
and all your molten lava love that you wanted to give to me
my fire-fly
my holy waters
and i swear
that day
i suddenly was no longer afraid
of the dark.
